This is Masuo-san, a guide in Ogasawara

Masuo-san, who has been living in Chichijima for around 22 years, will help you make your Ogasawara trip even more memorable.

Whether you want to walk through a forest full of endemic species, view beautiful scenery from a mountaintop, visit Ogasawara’s WW2 battle sites and learn about its history, snorkel to your heart’s content, dive a little deeper, or simply relax under the most beautiful starry sky in Japan, Masuo-san will be happy to help! He will do his best to accommodate you during your stay.

He is also a professionnal photographer, and can thus take photos and videos for you. He can also work with the media.

The Ogasawara Islands have been fortified since before World War II. Numerous remnants of the war such as air-raid shelters, cannons, airplanes, and ships remain in the forests, on the beaches and even in the sea. Come explore together and think about the preciousness of peace.

1 day tour or half a day

Masuo-san is extremely knowledgeable about the archipelago, its past and its history, but that’s not all. As a profesionnal underwater photographer, who initially moved to Ogasawara because of his love of dolphins, he can tell you all that you need to know about the sea’s wildlife, as well as capturing fantastic memories of your outings into the deep blue.

The locals keep Chichijima very lively and welcoming. Masuo-san will let you know about the events and activities happening during your stay in the archipelago, so that you can get as involved as you’d like in the local way of life. This might be going to watch a hula dance performance or help reintroduce baby sea turtles into the wild for example.
