    • Unstable docking areas with approx. 3 meters of rocky terrain deemed unsafe.

Duration: Approx. 6 hours

Nature Observation Tour with Local Guide (Nature-Focused + Historical Sites) / Shared Tour

Take a guided walk through the rich forests of Chichijima, part of a World Natural Heritage site. As an oceanic island that has never been connected to any continent, Chichijima is home to rare species that evolved in isolation. Still evolving today, this living forest is like a natural laboratory of evolution.

Along the way, you’ll also see historical remains from the Pacific War hidden within the forest.

  • Note 1: This 6-hour tour includes vehicle transfers, but also involves 3–4 km of walking on unpaved forest trails with uneven terrain, stairs, and slopes.
  • Note 2: Please note that this tour is not recommended for participants with mobility issues or those using walking aids such as canes.

Explore Wartime Ruins on a World Natural Heritage Island (History-Focused + Nature) / Shared Tour

During the final stages of the Pacific War, Chichijima was heavily fortified. Today, remnants of bunkers and heavy artillery remain, remarkably well-preserved. This tour takes you to some of the island’s most historically significant sites.

You’ll also explore the island’s lush forest, an ecosystem quietly shaped over time by nature’s enduring miracles.

Heart Rock Trekking, Chichijima’s Southern Cliff (Chihiroiwa)

This trek leads you through the unique forests of Ogasawara, part of a World Natural Heritage site. These forests showcase an extraordinary ecosystem that has evolved in response to a wide range of environmental conditions. Your goal: Chihiroiwa (also known as Heart Rock), a dramatic cliff rising over 200 meters above sea level at the island’s southern tip.
The panoramic view from the unfenced cliff is simply breathtaking.

  • Note 1: Some slopes require rope assistance.
  • Note 2: Distance: Approx. 8 km round-trip / Elevation: 250 m / Hiking time: Approx. 4 hrs
  • Note 3: Please note that this tour is not recommended for participants with mobility issues or those using walking aids such as canes.
